Hoi An old town really is the most charming place and it’s silk lantern filled streets are what make it so special. The fusion of Chinese, Japanese, French and Vietnamese cultures and their architectural styles make the yellow city of Vietnam so unique. We recommend wandering the beautiful streets both night and day. Also, don’t miss the colourful lantern market at night!
Tailor-made clothing is huge in Hoi An and you can really get anything that you desire made. We recommend visiting Yaly Couture for a bespoke suit. The whole experience is pretty unique. You choose the fabric, lining and style before being measured and having a full 3D body scan taken. This is then made into a polystyrene mould which ensures the tailor is able to make the suit a perfect fit.
Hoi An is home to many gorgeous coffee shops with very relaxed environments. For amazing iced coffees check out Hoi An Roasters and Faifo Coffee. If you visit Faifo coffee don’t miss the beautiful rooftop for a view of the town.
A Banh Mi is another nod to French tradition in Hoi An. The sandwich is a french baguette filled with meats, vegetables, spices and herbs. We’d recommend visiting Banh Mi Phuong to taste your first Banh Mi which became hugely popular after a visit from Anthony Bourdain.
