Diamond Head Hike
Hike up Diamond Head (a volcanic tuff cone) for an amazing view of Waikiki and Honolulu. We are not hiking experts but found this to be a pretty easy hike which takes around an hour and a half in total. At the end of your hike treat yourself to a refreshing shaved ice!
LEARN TO SURF
Does it get any better than learning to surf in Hawaii? When most people picture Hawaii it’s the first thing they think of, so why not experience it for yourself. We recommend booking a surfing lesson with Big Wave Dave via Airbnb experiences. You may be a natural but if not, even just lying on the board with the waves coming towards you is a spectacular feeling. If you are lucky like us you may even spot a sea turtle floating by!
Hire a jeep
We would recommend getting away from Waikiki beach for the day to explore more parts of Oahu in a Jeep Wrangler. Why a Jeep Wrangler? It’s just the car to hire in Hawaii! Make a stop at the Hoʻomaluhia Botanical Garden to witness the most insane landscape. No photos will ever do this place justice! It’s like stepping onto the movie set of Jurassic park which was actually filmed nearby.
We would then recommend driving to the North shore and stopping at the charming town of Haleiwa where you can eat lunch and visit the unique stores. You can also visit the popular Laniakea Beach (if you can get parked) or enjoy a scenic drive around the beautiful south east coast.

Visit Pearl Harbour to learn more about the history surrounding the devastating attack. The Arizona Memorial is beautiful and haunting all at once as it sits on top of the USS Arizona, which is the final resting place for over a thousand souls.
