the location
The magical AirShip 002 is located in the beautiful Scottish Highlands in the very remote area of Drimnin. It will take you around a 5 hour drive to reach it from the city of Glasgow. The journey includes over 40 miles of single track around the beautiful Loch Linnhe and the Sound of Mull. Passing places are frequent but you are more likely to have to stop for some sheep than a car which really emphasises its remoteness. The accommodation is located on a hill with idyllic views over the Sound of Mull to Tobermory, the colourful little village where Balamory was filmed (for those who remember).
the space
The AirShip is an aluminium pod which is made up of more than 3,000 components. Therefore the tiny home is highly sustainable due to the choice of materials used, meaning it will never rot or rust over time. It’s extremely modern and true to it’s aeronautical theme throughout. The interior design of the home is fascinating and creative, yet highly functional. Everything has been so carefully considered to fit into the relatively compact space, from the fold away kitchen table, to the curtains draping around the cosy double bed to block out light. The space also features a wood burning stove which is perfect for the colder weather. Enjoy being snug by the fire with a hot chocolate during the winter months.
One of the best features of the AirShip is the amount of windows. You will constantly feel connected with the outdoor surroundings due to the porthole windows providing little glimpses of nature at every turn. Additionally the large and open dragonfly windows at each end of the home remind you just how remote and secluded you are.
the sleep
The bed is a bali style frame with curtains to block out light making it feel extremely cosy. During rainy weather enjoy the sound of rain hitting off the roof whilst being in your own little secluded bubble.
the food
The kitchen area is great and well equipped. Bringing your own food is essential here as there are no restaurants or shops nearby. So bring a bottle and some pasta and enjoy an evening surrounded by nature.
