Seoul in September is wonderful as it’s not too warm and not too cold, usually between 15 and 25 degrees celcius. Therefore it’s the perfect temperature for exploring the city. We found Seoul to be a very unique city with lots happening. So here are our recommendations for the top things to do in Seoul.
The street food on Myeongdong shopping street is amazing. The carts line the street on either side providing so much choice and variety from around 4pm to 11pm each day. We recommend the Korean fried chicken with rice cakes, fried cheese skewers and Nutella crepes, which are all delicious.
It’s great to discover the traditional elements of Seoul that contrast with the modern city. Therefore, we would highly recommend wandering around the Bukchon Hanok village. It’s a 600 year old village with traditional style homes. Whilst in the area also check out Shin Old Tea House. The tea house feels very authentic where you can sit on the floor and taste some floral teas.
The area of Gangnam became famous to many of us because of the Psy song Gangnam Style which made the charts in 2012. Like us, you may have heard of Gangnam before you had even heard of Seoul and therefore you need to check it out. The area is home to many beautiful designer stores which is great for window shopping. Also check out the Coex shopping mall for the coolest library. If you are a K-Pop fan don’t miss K-Star road. Here you will find a trail of cute bears dedicated to different K-pop groups.
The options of noodles in Seoul is endless. So visit any 7 Eleven and start working your way through them. We’d highly recommend the fire noodles if you like spicy food.
