The Location
The Ardcana cabins are located in the Lower Breakish area of the Isle of Skye, not far from the bridge to Skye from mainland Scotland. The area is extremely peaceful and is a great base for the exploring the island from. The cabin is perfectly situated to enjoy expansive views of Skye, Applecross and the small islands of the Inner Sound. Outside the cabin you can enjoy their wooden deck chairs which are perfect for stargazing at night. During the warmer months they are perfect for enjoying the sunrise with a morning coffee or the sunset with a glass of wine.
The Space
The Darach cabin is the perfect mix between modern luxury and cosy rustic vibes. The oak cladding creates a cosy environment whilst the detailing and quality furnishings radiate luxury. The open plan cabin features a king-size bed, amazing kitchen facilities, a cosy a sitting area and a separate ensuite. What you will love most about the cabin is just how many windows there are to enjoy the views from. The key feature of the Darach cabin is it’s huge picture window, this allows you to enjoy the most incredible sunrises and sunsets, each completely unique and special. All of the windows have blinds which are operated by a remote. It is very cool to be able to open them from the comfort of your bed in the morning. The heated flooring is also a nice added luxury which is perfect during the cold winter months.
The spacious walk in drench shower is amazing! It is without the doubt the best we have experienced in Scotland. You can also enjoy their quirky Bluetooth speaker mirror allowing you to play music and set the mood for your shower. The wonderful scent of the Ishga toiletries also create a relaxing environment and add to the luxury shower experience.
From even a quick glance at our Instagram or Website you will see how much we adore Scotland and how much time we have spent exploring our home country, particularly in recent years. We absolutely love to see others proud of our local heritage and supporting local businesses – particularly at the moment in a time of such economic turmoil and uncertainty. One of the first things you will notice, is the beautiful Harris Tweed cushions (pictured below) and the aroma of an Essence of Harris infuser filling the air. On closer inspection you will notice the beautiful art of Scottish landscape digital artist Cath Waters in the form of coasters, place mats and prints. You can also wrap up in a cosy blanket from The Tartan Blanket Co.
The Sleep
The beautiful locally crafted, four poster frame bed is a defining feature of the interior design. Complete with luxury bedding and bold Harris Tweed finishings, it is extremely comfortable. However the star of the show for most will be that on a clear night you can literally sleep under the stars! A blind electronically opens to reveal a Velux window above you and a magical sky full of stars.
The food
The self-catering cabin features a fully-equipped kitchen with every amenity you could think of. It features a coffee making device for everyone, including an Nespresso machine and our personal favourite coffee gadget, the Nespresso milk frother.
