rent a golf cart to explore the island
The most popular thing to do on Isla Mujeres is to rent a golf cart and trust us they are everywhere! It’s a really fun and convenient way to see the island. We recommend hiring one a few streets back from the front as it will be cheaper. We paid roughly £40 for the day. Don’t miss driving through the Corona drive-through to pick up some beers and check out the Zama Beach Club. Keep an eye out for the funky stalls at the side of the roads selling souvenirs. Also watch out for the iconic Airbnb sea shell house.
Enjoy a BEACH DAY AT PLAYA NORTE
We can honestly say the Playa Norte beach on Isla Mujeres is the most beautiful beach we have ever seen. It has the clearest blue water and most perfect white sand. We would recommend buying a beach bed for the day at Oceanv’s Beach Club and grab lunch there too!
wander the colourful STREETS
Isla Mujeres is a great place to wander the streets aimlessly due to the beautiful colours. There are many vibrant murals to spot and random carts selling sea shells. Also look out for Iguanas which randomly chill at the side of streets.
visit the town square
The Town Square is a popular spot for locals with nightly entertainment (in Spanish) and several food carts. We recommend the delicious chocolate covered churros and if you are feeling adventurous try a fried plantain (which looks like a banana). It’s served with condensed milk, cream and cheese which sounds strange but it is truly delicious! We also highly recommend Sony’s Pizza for dinner and dessert!
