Before travelling to Havana you should know there is a serious lack of wifi available in the city. Therefore, it’s a great idea to book excursions before you travel. We used Airbnb to book both our accommodation and 3 amazing experiences prior to our trip. From salsa dancing to making the perfect Mojito, here are the best Airbnb Havana experiences you can book in Cuba.
CLASSIC CAR HISTORY TOUR
Our first Airbnb experience we recommend is a tour of Havana’s most historic and notable spots in a Classic 1950’s car. Stops include Revolution Square, Hotel Nacional de Cuba and the Castillo De Los Tres Reyes Del Morro fortress remains. Revolution Square is where all major Cuban rallies and political speeches take place. You will also get to try a classic Cuban Mojito or Daiquiri at the hotel where many influential people have stayed during their visit to Havana. From Walt Disney and Barack Obama to Kate Moss and Vin Diesel. The hotel also houses original bunkers from the Cold War and the Cuban missile crisis era. Not only is the tour extremely interesting, it’s amazing to interact with a local and learn about their lifestyle and upbringing. This was definitely our favourite experience we booked, so if you are looking to book just one we’d recommend it be this!
Salsa dancing class
If you are looking to do something totally out your comfort zone in Havana look no further! The second experience we recommend is to learn traditional Cuban salsa dancing with locals in their home. For us this was definitely the most unique experience we had. After all our initial awkwardness and two left feet we absolutely loved it.

mixology class
The third Airbnb experience we recommend booking is a Mixology class at Jiberos bar in the San Isidro neighbourhood of Old Havana. Experience making and drinking traditional Cuban cocktails including Mojitos, Daiquiris and Moscow Mules, each one with its own twist. Hear the interesting stories about the origins of the cocktails and the explanations behind every ingredient. Between each cocktail you will taste traditional Cuban tapas which are delicious. We are still dreaming about the Frituras De Malanga dish. Which is fried root with eggs, parsley and garlic, served with a honey dip.
